a Linux distribution built from the ground up. not forked. not remixed. *built.*
from a bootstrap toolchain to a package repository, every piece is ours. musl. LLVM. XBPS. dinit. a kernel compiled from source and a set of packages we wrote the build recipes for. an ISO framework designed the way we think it should work.
this is not a rebrand. this is not a respin. this is us, building what we actually want to exist.
---
### what happens to the current Euri Linux?
it doesn't die. it stops growing. maintenance mode — security fixes, critical patches, nothing more. the Artix base served us well, but we're not building on someone else's foundation anymore.
Calamares? it's coming with us. some things are worth keeping.
---
### where are we?
nowhere yet. this branch is empty on purpose.
the plan looks something like this:
- [ ] bootstrap a cross-compilation toolchain from source
- [ ] build a base system (musl, coreutils, kernel)
- [ ] integrate XBPS package management
- [ ] create our own package build infrastructure
- [ ] design and build the ISO framework
- [ ] port Calamares and the installer experience
- [ ] ship it
we have no timeline. we have no guarantee this works. we have a 15-year-old with a NAS, a GPG key, and a stubbornness problem.
