gdm: backport dropping 61-gdm.rules
...
This file implements checks for disabling Wayland with certain
setups, such as the proprietary NVIDIA driver.
While most of the NVIDIA checks were removed in gdm 48, a check
still remains testing the presence of systemd user services, which
always fails since it is handled by an elogind system-sleep script.
This file was removed entirely with gdm 49+.

Applications have had sufficient time to chart their course with the breakage.
Most applications have chosen to drop their python plugins.
While a patch does exist to use grepository-2.0, it breaks more than it fixes.
As such, disable python plugin support for now.

Remove the 'affinity hack' patch, which reverted its removal from 0.24.2
upstream. Not entirely sure why the patch was added since it wasn't explained
in the commit or the PR. The 'affinity hack' was added to older versions of
prboom to limit execution to a single core since fluidsynth can be CPU
intensive.
